|National Service Scheme (NSS) :
The NSS unit of Sydenham College falls under the aegis of the NSS unit of the University of Mumbai. Every year 100 students can enroll themselves in this unit. These students undertake many social activities such as organizing blood donation drives, reading and recording for the blind, plantation drives, participating in the annual rural camp, etc. It also organizes unique programme 'Ek Koshish' for under privileged, differently abled challenged children in association with various NGOs. Students are entitled to 10 grace marks on successful completion of 120 hours of NSS work as per the guidelines issued by Mumbai University (Rule 0.229).

|The Golden Jubilee Memorial Letures :
The Sydenham Golden Jubilee Trust instituted three memorial lectures to honour three eminent professors, viz. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Prof. R.M.Joshi and Principal S.K.Muranjan. These memorial lectures are held every year, where students participation is compulsory.
|Student's Council (Council) :
The council is the apex body of student community in the college. It serves as an important channel of communication between the administration and the students. It co-ordinates events of all Societies of the college.
Apart from the student's council, the college is proud to have numerous Societies to develop the innate talents of students which contribute immensely to their personality development.
Marathi Wangmay Mandal (MWM) :
Marathi Wangmay Mandal serves students on various fronts. It organizes cultural programmes in Marathi which promote Marathi language and culture. It also celebrates various Maharashtrian festivals like 'Gurupurnima', 'Makarsankranti' etc. to introduce the rich Maharashtrian flavor to all the students thus serving as the Maharashtrian Cultural Ambassador in the college.

Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM) :
It promotes Hindi language and literary work among the students through periodicals, literary events, workshops, lectures, music and dance programmes. Its musical event, Dhoon, provides opportunity to the budding artists of the college to execute their talents. Mela is another event highlights various aspects of the Indian rural life. The Mandal brings out its own news letter 'Jagrati' which publishes literary works of the students. It also conducts workshops and Kavi Sammelans dedicated to the promotion of Hindi.

Sydenham Foreign Trade Association (SFTA) :
It serves as a platform for the students having great potential in the field of commerce. The Society aims to inculcate all the possible qualities that a budding entrepreneur should have in today's highly globalised and competitive world.

Poor Students Educational Relief Fund (PSERF) :
It encourages the talent of the needy and intelligent students who require help for better education. It is a registered society under the Charity Commissioner and raises funds by organizing activities like Diva (inter-collegiate fashion show) and musical shows.

Sydenham Nature Club (NC) :
It promotes love for nature & creates environmental awareness. The club got registered under World Wildlife Fund (India). It has successfully organized events like PUC drives, periodic hikes, cleanliness drives, go green campaign, an exhibition-cum-sale of exotic plants called 'Bageecha' and an aqua sport event named 'Lalapalooza'.
The Annual Magazine Committee (A-Mag) :
A-Mag publishes the annual magazine of the college with multilingual sections. It also publishes the newsletter- 'Speak'. Besides this, it organizes a competition to award the Best Chairperson, a photo-session- “Say Cheese” for the teaching faculty and non-teaching staff, as well as the societies of the college.
The Dramatic Society (DS) :
The Dramatic Society aims at promoting theater by organizing various plays. It puts up plays not only on the stage of Sydenham Auditorium but also performs street plays on burning issues concerning the society. The members of the Dramatic Society participate in various drama competitions organized by other colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Another notable activity of the society is Tabula-Raasa-an inter-collegiate writing competition.

The Performing Art Society (PAS) :
It discovers & encourages potential talents in dance & music. It also organizes stage events, musical programmes, talent parades, fashion shows etc. Blitz Creed is an inter-collegiate literary event that is held for almost a week. The PAS holds a workshop annually that is dedicated to personality development, time management and poetry recital.

The Social Service League (SSL) :
The League undertakes the social activities within and outside the college. It has established linkages with the Spastics Society of India, CRY, Tata Memorial Hospital and the Bombay Hospital. Each year it organizes a blood donation camp. Its motto is, “ Not Me But You” and upholds it to the last word. The league has patronized a School in Waki villages near Dahanu Road. This society has successfully inculcated a sense of social responsibility amongst the youth in the college.

The Placement Cell :
It organizes Career Fair every year which gives information about various courses & careers after 10th , 12th & Graduation. It also arranges Campus Placements. Last year's placements were made in companies like J.P.Morgan Chess, F&Y, TCS, Citi Group, Duetsch Bank, KPMG(BPO), Directi, A.F.Fergusson etc.
The Public Speaking and Debating Society (PSDS) :
It promotes literary thinking & analytical ability among students. It also organizes various competitions & debates both intra-collegiate & inter-collegiate.
Planning Forum :
This enlightens and updates students on various current topics by conducting business quiz, seminar, symposia, and workshops. It keeps students abreast about latest developments on economic policy matters, politics, sports entertainment etc.
The Gymkhana :
It fosters physical development through various indoor and outdoor sporting events. It also helps in augmenting a sense of true sportsmanship in students. Further college also has well equipped gymnasium which paves the way for healthy lifestyle both among students and faculties. Participation in various intra and inter-collegiate events which develop a sense of healthy competition in the minds of the students.

Being a commerce college, a co-operative store is solely managed by students which promote hardcore business skills among students.
ENGLISH LITERARY CLUB :
Sydenham College has always helped the learners towards innovation and creativity. in accordance with it, Department of English, headed by Prof. Mahendra Telgote, took initiative to start a unique platform for expression of the literary and creative skills of students. It was coined and commenced as ‘English Literary Club’, which aims to make students aware of the literary treasure and traditions, to motivate them for writing, to help them for enhancing communication skills and to make them know value and worth of human existence.

Girls Forum :
The girls forum is an initiative platform of Sydenham College to enable girl students enhance their inner talent,. It works for betterment, development and to boost confidence of girl students. The college has established Girls Forum in the year 2015 .The forum sees itself primarily as a catalyst in assisting girls to realize their full potential and exercise their influence on society and its transformation. It is a platform to the students to voice their thoughts and opinions and share their experiences. It actively promotes and generate awareness on the issues concerning girls development. The objectives of girls forum is promotion, development and dissemination of knowledge regarding the role of girls in present social contest. It also undertakes program for creating social awareness of attitudinal changes. It also undertakes career counseling and personal guidance . It creates awareness on specific issues concerning girls.

Sydenham Computer Centre :
Sydenham Computer Centre (SCC) was established in 1992 to make students aware about the IT world. It is housed in the Computer Laboratory on the Ground Floor. It organizes various events like Orientation of students regarding society activities, industrial visit jointly with IQAC, helping in conducting practical sessions of the students, providing facility of computers to various societies for their DTP work and managing the gaming zone during the Annual Inter collegiate festival Brouhaha. It had over the years focused on keeping Sydenham students abreast with latest concepts and technologies in the world of information technology and computers.

Brouhaha –is one of the most reputed college festivals in Western India. This Sydenham college festival dates back to 1985, it was then called as ‘Rainbow Lane’. In 1993 it is changed to ‘Brouhaha’, a French word which means ‘Organized Chaos’. Students from various colleges all over the Mumbai participate. Events range from Literary Arts, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Management World, Informals to Tele-Matches.
